The temple of Debod was brought to this small hill from far Egypt rescuing it from from drowning because the construction of the gigantic Assuan dam on the Nile river. From this place the hilly green slopes connect with the outskirts of the city almost without interruptions. However the temple is still centrally located, very close and easy to reach from public transport. On the map can be seen the different main points: RENFE railway station of Príncipe Pío and bus station of Moncloa, and there are many underground and bus facilities stops. If you start in Moncloa, arriving to the temple takes about thirty minutes walk.It depends the time you arrive to the initial point but be sure that the sunset will not happen until the sun sets !!. You can take it easy strolling along a nice botany trail across the West Park that surrounds the temple, otherwise you can go up to the observatory tower ( after paying, of course ) at the entrance of the University City. In any case, the route to follow could be going down Paseo Moret, get Paseo Rosales, going along a wide sidewalk under a double line of trees that shelter tables of the street bars or kioskos. These succesion of tables was once known as the train of happiness because the pairs of loving people sitting there. At the end of Paseo Rosales you can see a little slope, the Temple of Debod is at view. Look for the balcony, take place and wait to see the spectacle we have heard so well about. And now... is to wait for the moment to clap hands at the end of the concert. But maybe no one dares to start because there can still be some chords to enjoy. © Traducción Juan García Vicente
